Why did I choose Wesco?
I have always heard nothing but good things about the company, and my friend worked there at the time and referred me!
What were your first impressions of Wesco?
The associates take pride in their work! They are always busy making sure the store looks amazing at all times. They always have a smile on their face and are willing to drop everything to help you out!

I had a summer job as a Games Supervisor at Michigan's Adventure, but that isn't open
year-round. I knew I needed to find something else. After applying to about six different
places, including three in my field of study, I chose to apply to Wesco. Working in
Fruitport was unexpected but helped me get to know new people. I spent a lot of time in
Fruitport growing up while I was playing travel soccer, so working in the community kind
of felt like everything had come full circle.

Taking this position helped me grow more as a leader. There was a lot of unknown
going into the interview process, and honestly, it scared me a little bit. Accepting the
role as Fresh Mentor pushed me outside of my comfort zone and allowed me to travel
to other stores more and get to know other Managers within the Zone. I was also able to
get to know the other Fresh Mentors from the other Zones and we collaborated
frequently, building relationships along the way. I learned so much more about how
Wesco operates day to day than I ever thought possible in this position. I got to meet so
many amazing people along the way, both at the store level and at the corporate level.
Each and every one of them amazes me every single day.

Accepting this position has challenged me in more ways than I could have ever
imagined. It has forced me to become comfortable with being uncomfortable. Leaving
Store 5 for a brand-new location where I knew only three people scared me. I was quickly
forced into building strong relationships with my new team and create a culture that we
can be proud of. Store 8 has helped me grow even more as a person and as a leader,
and it continues to challenge me every day. I am so thankful for this opportunity I was
presented, and I look forward to what my future holds. Each and every person I have
met in my short two years here has made such an impact on my Wesco journey that I
couldn't imagine where I would be if I had any other job.
What would I want someone just starting out to know?
You are going to do such amazing things with this company, you have no idea. I know
this is not what you saw yourself doing long term, but you are going to grow so much
and have so many unforgettable opportunities! Don't worry about not being where you
thought you would at this point in your life, you are right where you are meant to be.
